About Us

Who we are

The Hotel Council of San Francisco encompasses all segments of the City’s hotel and lodging industry, representing the interests of more than 65 member hotels in San Francisco on a variety of government and public affairs issues, working together to promote tourism and support our employees and create a thriving San Francisco economy.

What we do

The Hotel Council of San Francisco aims to both preserve and foster positive environments that support our City’s largest source of revenue—tourism. We aim to keep it that way.

The Hotel Council of San Francisco and its members consist of:

  • Advocates for shared responsibility and accountability. Keeping the key players in the community, politics, business, labor and our members educated about hotel issues, economic issues, union contracts, hotel news and significant facts and figures on the hotel and travel industry.
  • Promoting San Francisco Assets. Hotel employees are ambassadors for this City and we value them and the work they do. The Council works to foster jobs and economic opportunity, creating a positive working environment that benefits everyone in this City.
  • Drivers of the City’s economy. The tourism industry is San Francisco’s largest source of revenue that flows to the community and employees through hotels and visitors to our City, particularly by way of large-scale City events and business conventions.
